Good news! We will formulate an action plan to achieve peak carbon emissions by 2030 and vigorously develop new energy sources
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang delivers a government work report at the opening meeting of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, March 5, 2018.
In this year's report, the content of green development, carbon peak, carbon neutral, and the vigorous development of new energy will greatly benefit photovoltaic. The key contents are as follows:
We will promote green development and promote harmony between man and nature. We will strengthen efforts to improve the systems of mountains, rivers, forests, farmland, lakes, and grasslands, and move faster to build important ecological barriers. We will build a system of protected natural areas, with national parks as the main part of the system, and achieve a forest coverage rate of 24.1 percent. We will continue to improve environmental quality, and basically eliminate heavily polluted weather and black and smelly water bodies in cities. Implement the 2030 targets of nationally determined contributions to climate change. We will accelerate the transformation of the growth model to green, promote high-quality economic development and high-level ecological and environmental protection in a coordinated way, and reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by 13.5% and 18%, respectively.
We will do a solid job in achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality. We will formulate an action plan to peak carbon emissions by 2030. We will optimize the industrial structure and energy structure. We will promote clean and efficient use of coal, vigorously develop new energy sources, develop nuclear power in an orderly manner while ensuring safety, expand the list of preferential corporate income taxes for environmental protection, energy conservation and water conservation, promote research and development and application of new energy conservation and environmental protection technologies, equipment and products, and foster and strengthen energy conservation and environmental protection industries. We will accelerate the development of a national market for trading energy use and carbon emission rights, and improve the dual control of energy consumption. We will implement special financial policies to support green and low-carbon development, and set up tools to support carbon emission reduction. As a member of the global village, China will make its due contribution to the global response to climate change with concrete actions.
